Kudos Celebrates 25 Years
It has been 25 years since Salcombe based Kudos, with Jonno Barrett at the helm, first ventured into the world of software development designed for the marine industry. The solution, which was created for chandlers, boat builders and marine engineers, was the first of its kind and the software’s integration with complex, multiple suppliers’ stock lists was unique.
Jonno and his growing team soon broadened their horizons to discover the benefits Kudos could bring to the caravan, motor industry and retail markets and the software has since evolved into a complete retail, job and project, and fulfilment process system.
Dale Sailing Company have worked with Kudos since the very beginning. Pioneering Software
25 years on, the team at Kudos continue to be pioneers in software development using their technological expertise to create simple solutions to complex problems. Recent developments include Retail Gift Aid and delivery apps for handheld devices, which have been built specifically for the charity and reuse markets.
Kudos continues to build long lasting relationships with customers, partners and resellers who have all helped the business go from strength to strength.

Stellar Team of Industry Experts
Kudos is on course for continued success under the new watch of Sarah Dodd, who has recently stepped into the role of Managing Director, having previously been Commercial Director for several years. Sarah has skilfully navigated Kudos through 2020, with the support of Jonno, who is now Executive Chairman and their stellar team of industry experts.
Sarah Dodd said ‘A career in retail IT wasn’t what I expected but it’s brought many opportunities, challenges to overcome and ultimately career satisfaction. Coincidentally, 25 years ago, my Saturday job at Argos involved being stood at a till point in the middle of the shop, with a queue ten deep; it provided an understanding of what the technology is there to do – make it easy for cashiers and volunteers to help customers and give them the best shopping experience. Now, I have this vision for all our customers. Whilst I might not get it right all the time, striving to is what motivates me most.’
