Toogoodtowaste were expanding quickly and needed a system that was flexible and powerful; Kudos provided this system.
Toogoodtowaste is a leading re-use charity and social enterprise. In 2015, Toogoodtowaste sold over 58,000 items through their two showrooms and engaged 317 individuals in volunteering or work based learning positions.
They needed a software system that was flexible enough to cope with their expanding business. In particular, it was the Kudos furniture tracking software that impressed the charity and compelled them to invest in the system.
“Kudos Web Head Office has the flexibility to adapt and expand with your business, exactly what businesses and social enterprises need in these challenging times”
Shaun England – Chief Executive Officer
Toogoodtowaste created their own touch screens using one of the templates provided. Their Chief Executive Officer, Shaun England, explains, ‘As with all businesses, we have our own quirks that are part of our day-to-day business, and being able to design our own touch screen enabled us to incorporate some of these which made the transition from a paper-based system to electronic much easier.’
Members of staff and volunteers enjoy using the Kudos EPOS system and find it easy and straightforward. It also provides volunteers with useful and transferable skills when they go on to further employment.
The more recent implementation of Kudos Browser Head Office has improved work and time efficiency and helped maximise sales and donations as well as streamlining auditing.
Thanks to being able to access information at any hour, the managers can check the performance of an individual sector or branch at their convenience, not necessarily during office hours.
Shaun finds the variety of reports available very helpful and his team regularly uses sales, audit trail and item tracking. Generally, the managers prefer the numeric reports but do occasionally tap into the graphic ones.
Installation was carried out by Kudos in a single morning and training was done via Webinar. Shaun England says this was ‘easy to follow and very interactive. All in all, the process was done swiftly and efficiently.’
Any glitches or problems experienced with the software since being installed have been sorted out by an expert from the Kudos customer support team.
Overall, the ability to process Retail Gift Aid has proven to be the biggest benefit to the charity and when asked if he would recommend Kudos software to others, Shaun England’s answer was ‘yes, of course’.
